Nagoya July 12 - Facing the growing threat of piracy facilitated by the internet, Mr. Michael Schelsinger, Vice President of the International Intellectual Property Alliance, spoke on "Intellectual Property Protection and Enforcement in the Digital Age" to the audience of 30 patent attorneys, businessmen, and academics at the Nagoya American Center. The event was co-organized by the Japan Patent Attorney Association. Mr. Schlesinger emphasised the need for regional harmonization beyond international borders to establish an effective legal framework for anti-piracy and anti-counterfeiting enforcement.
