Korea Expert Discusses Six-Party Talks
Toyama, September 5 - U.S. Committee for Human Rights in North Korea Executive Director Peter M. Beck discussed recent developments in the Six-Party Talks process including progress made by the new working groups. The event, hosted by the Toyama Prefecture Japan America Society, focused on current efforts to promote peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula. Mr. Beck's primary message to the audience, including thirty of Toyama's top civic and business leaders, was that close multilateral cooperation is required in order to denuclearize the Korean peninsula, address the human rights crisis in North Korea, and bring closure to the abduction issue.
