
Nagoya, October 22 - Jana Mason, director of Government Relations and Advocacy at the International Rescue Committee, discussed refugee policy in the United States with an audience of government and nonprofit leaders. Explaining the U.S. Refugees Admission Program and the U.S. Asylum Program, Ms. Mason stated that the IRC and the U.S. Department of State are working to increase incoming refugee numbers. Dr. Petrice Flowers of Hawaii University and members of the Japan Association for Refugees compared U.S. and Japan refugee intake systems. The Japan Association for Refugees cosponsored this event.
