Fukui, April 9 - Bob Milne, one of America’s top ragtime/boogie-woogie pianists, played for a full house at Fukui City’s Harmony Hall. Playing ragtime hits like “The Entertainer” by Scott Joplin, “Canal Street Blues” by Joe Oliver and a few of his own songs including “Barrelhouse Boogie,” Mr. Milne paused between songs to tell the stories behind the music explaining American life in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Mr. Milne wowed the crowd with his virtuoso performance, especially when he used his elbow to play parts of Nick LaRocca’s “Tiger Rag.”
