
Nagoya, June 20th - The Consulate hosted a reception at the Nagoya Hilton to celebrate the United States of America’s 232nd year of independence. Over 350 guests from business, government, academia, media, the arts and the sporting world enjoyed authentic American cuisine, including American beef, sausage, seafood, and fruit donated by American producers.
Attendees listened to renditions of the American and Japanese national anthems sung by award-winning vocalists from the Japan Academy of Chamber Music and marveled at the extravagant flower display created by Ikebana Master Sankaku Ogawa.
Aichi Prefecture Governor Masaaki Kanda and Nagoya Mayor Takehisa Matsubara gave congratulatory remarks followed by Brother Industries and Aichi America Japan Society Chairman Yoshihiro Yasui who gave a toast to the strength and continuing growth of U.S.-Japan relations.
