USS Shiloh Visits Nagoya

Nagoya, August 25-28 - The USS Shiloh, one of the U.S. Navy’s most advanced forward deployed ballistic missile defense cruisers, visited the Port of Nagoya.

After a warm greeting from local citizenry and Central Japanese Self Defense Force personnel, including the SDF’s 10th Division Band, Captain Abramson met the welcoming crowd and thanked them for their hospitality.

During the Shiloh’s visit to Nagoya, sailors enjoyed shore leave by exploring Nagoya and other parts of the Tokai Region.

While they were in Nagoya, crewmembers from the Shiloh participated in a community relations exercise at a Nagoya children’s home where they worked on yard projects and socialized with children.

Sailors also took part in a friendly game of basketball hosted by JSDF units from Moriyama Base and toured a few of Greater Nagoya’s famous automotive manufacturing plants.
