
Nagoya, March 3 - NASA Astronaut Dan Tani discussed his experiences as member of two missions to the International Space Station (ISS).
Starting with his roots as a third-generation Japanese-American, Mr. Tani discussed his childhood interest in space and how he eventually became an astronaut.
Focusing on his latter 4-month mission to the ISS, Mr. Tani discussed daily life in the station, including space cuisine, the over 14,000 photographs that he took of Earth, and what he and his colleagues did during their spare time at the ISS.
Mr. Tani also discussed the strong cooperation that exists between NASA and the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA).
At the end of his presentation, Mr. Tani played prerecorded greetings for the people of Nagoya from his JAXA astronaut colleagues.
