
Nagoya, March 11 - Xenia Dormandy, senior associate at Harvard’s University’s Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs, discussed the state of affairs in South Asia for an audience of government, academic and private sector professionals at the Nagoya American Center.
Highlighting the recent nomination of Richard Holbrooke as the Obama Administration’s special representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan, Ms. Dormandy said that new administration appears to be taking a fresh approach to promoting stability in the region.
Connecting South Asian relations to Nagoya, Ms. Dormandy commented on the Indian and Pakistani automotive markets as well as the role of Japanese Marine Self Defense Force personnel in promoting peace on the Indian Ocean.
