Discussing North Korean Issues with Japan’s “Top Guns”

Komatsu, June 9 - The Nagoya American Center brought Osaka-Kobe U.S. Consul General Edward Dong to the Japan Air Self Defense Force’s Komatsu Airbase to discuss North Korean issues.

Citing North Korea’s recent missile and nuclear tests, Consul General Dong said that the country’s impact on regional security is certainly one of the top issues that the U.S. and Japan face today.

After an outline of North Korea’s role in regional affairs since the Korean War, Consul General Dong highlighted the remaining utility of the Six Party talks process as a mechanism to coordinate the region’s policy regarding North Korea.
