
USS Chosin Visits the Port of Nagoya
Nagoya, August 24-28 - The USS Chosin, a Ticonderoga class guided missile cruiser, visited the Port of Nagoya to engage in friendship and recreation activities.
Following a welcome ceremony hosted by the Japan Self Defense Force, USS Chosin Captain Timothy Smith stated that the ship's crew looked forward to their stay in a city as beautiful as Nagoya.
In addition to watching a Chunichi Dragons game and rafting the Kiso River, Sailors from the Chosin participated in events including friendly games of basketball with Self Defense Force personnel, and a community service event at a local children's home.
Based in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, the USS Chosin is part of the US Navy’s Pacific Fleet.
