
Nagoya, September 2 - Donna Brazile, adjunct professor at Georgetown University, Democratic Party political strategist and frequent commentator on CNN, ABC and other media outlets, spoke about the state of women in American politics at the Nagoya American Center.
Discussing the recent increase in women elected to political positions both in the United States and Japan, Ms. Brazile stressed that our societies must continue the work initiated during the women’s liberation movement over the past decades.
Honoring the women of courage who fought the status quo and pushed for equal rights and opportunities, Ms. Brazile said that we must take advantage of recent successes in women’s rights to push towards more equality in the workplace and in political representation.
Nagoya University Graduate School of Languages and Cultures Gender Studies Professor Masiko Arai moderated this event.
